“That Oughta Hold The Little Bastards”

All the kids in Springfield are SOBs. — Gabbo, “Krusty Gets Kanceled”

(Kudos to, uh, Gabbo for suggesting today’s post. Keep ’em coming in the comments section, gang.)

Gabbo’s/Brockman’s on-air gaffe is a parody of a hotly-rumored but ultimately fraudulent urban legend concerning radio personality Uncle Don Carney.

Unkie Don, real name Howard Rice, was a popular children’s radio personality whose legacy has largely been distilled into an apocryphal story that he once referred to his prepubescent viewers as “little bastards” when he thought he was off the air. Roll the tape (at around 1:58):

Quite the boner. Alas, it never happened. But it’s an entertaining lie. And, in the end, isn’t that the real truth?

  1. Say what you will about their on-air personalities, but Channel 6 has one hell of a graphics department.
