Grampa’s memorable stint at Krusty Burger was inspired (so the infallible episode commenter-creators say) by McDonald’s push in the 80s to bring the elderly members of the community into their restaurants.

This was made explicit by the following:

A lesser blogger might harp on that tuneless jingle’s lyrics, so here you go:

First day of work/Wanna be on time/Wanna make a good impression/What if they think it’s a little late/To start a new profession?/You got what it takes, you know it’s true/Bet you’ll show them a trick or two

  2. Wow, those ads are sorta depressing, I wonder how successful that campaign was? (Maybe they’ll reintroduce it once the baby boomers reach their seventies…)
