Sunshine, Lollipops, And Rainbows

Tonight has nothing to do with nice. — Ruth Powers, “Marge on the Lam”

Man, just looking at Homer’s smile up there lets me know that things are going to be alright. “Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows” was a 1965 hit single by pop duchess Lesley Gore, who also was the voice behind teen entitlement anthem “It’s My Party”.

I know you’re all on the edge of your seats waiting to hear this lovely tune, so let’s just get to it. Have a wonderful weekend, friends. It’s Friday and you’re alive!

  1. Love the blog, really love the concept. I’ve seen every episode and I know almost all of the references shown here. The one from Dumbbell Indemnity was the one I didn’t know about, so that was really neat to read.

I’d like to make a suggestion: Homer’s “Ayatollah Assahollah” shirt. It’s for any Ayatollah, yet Khomeini is on the shirt.

  2. “So, watch out, Laszlo Panaflex!”
